Would YOU take a ride on it? Giant swing with 60ft long ropes opens on the edge of a 1,000ft cliff in China
A Chinese theme park known for its extreme tourist attractions has opened a giant swing over a whopping 300-metre (1,000ft) drop.
The vertigo-inducing rocking seat is attached to a beam as high as 18 metres (59ft) - the equivalent to a six-storey building.
It's the fifth extreme swing in the Wansheng Ordovician Theme Park, situated in Chongqing, which also has a transparent walkway 120 metres (390ft) above the ground.
Every day, up to 4,000 people flock to the park to take a ride on the unique swings, according to a spokesperson.
The extra-ordinary swing opened to the public on April 29.
In a video provided by the theme park, various tourists can be seen being strapped to the seat, pulled up to a 90-degree point facing the ground before being catapulted into the air over the valley.
A spokesperson from the Wansheng Ordovician Theme Park told MailOnline that the swing is '100 per cent safe'.

He also said that a tourist needs to be aged between 18 to 48, no shorter than 150cm (4ft9in) and lighter than 85kg (13st) to be able to ride the largest swing.
All of the park's swings are located at an altitude of 1,300 metres (4,265 feet). They are around 300 metres (1,000 feet) above the ground.
However, tourists are only protected by the safety belts and there are no safety nets below the cliff.
The park had already had four cliff-side swings before building the giant one.
Two of them, with ropes measuring four metres (13 feet) long, are open to tourists. The other two, with ropes measuring six and eight metres long (19 and 26.2 feet) respectively, are reserved for acrobatic performance.
'3,000 to 4,000 tourists can ride the swings every day during the peak season,' said the park's spokesperson.
'A lot of young people come to our park just for the swings.'
The swings are said to be one of the two most popular attractions at the theme park.
The other one is the glass-bottomed bridge which juts from a cliff face above a 390-foot drop.
The transparent walkway extends more than 80 metres (262 feet) from a cliff face above a vertigo-inducing 120-metre drop (390 feet).
The impressive A-shaped bridge, which cost 40 million yuan (£4.5 million) to build, has overtaken another observation deck in Chongqing to become the world's longest cantilevered glass-bottomed walkway.

No more than 30 visitors are allowed to stand on the bridge at any one time.
The admission to the park is 180 yuan (£21) which allows the tourists to enjoy all attractions and ride the swings.

I am not keen on standing on a cliff edge, but don't get the same discomfort hanging under a parachute nor in an aircraft, which I find strange.

Knowing China's Health and safety record (it's not long since the DM reported somebody killed by a department store escalator, and someone else beheaded by an office lift) the answer has to be ¿No Way Jose¿

We couldn't have one of those in America. Some millenial would be taking a selfie on it, get hurt, and they'd have to shut the entire thing down due to "safety concerns."

Sure! There's absolutely nothing about the prevailing construction and engineering standards in China that should cause anyone the slightest worry! They are legendary worldwide for a strict focus on safety....oh, wait....nevermind.
