Just as it is impossible to navigate without an accurate map, it is impossible to understand human diseases or take care of patients without comprehensive knowledge of the structure of human body. For example, without anatomical knowledge it will be impossible to understand why variceal rupture-mediated severe bleeding, a life-threatening condition, may be a manifestation of schistosomiasis. It goes without saying that human anatomy is the foundation of modern medicine. In the midst of the COVID-19 outbreak, how can we chart our course and succeed in this often difficult class? Now, one of our teachers, Dr. Zhang Yongjie, has something to share.Dr. Zhang Yongjie is an associate professor, a master's student supervisor, and the executive deputy director of the Department of Human Anatomy of Nanjing Medical University. He has been teaching Human Anatomy for 20 years. He actively carries out teaching reform projects such as 「Discussion as a Teaching Format of Human Anatomy」 and 「Practical Clinical Anatomy」. He presided over 「English-medium Regional Anatomy」 as an Excellent Course for International Students of Jiangsu Province, and participated as a key person in "Systemic Anatomy" as a National Excellent Course for International Students. Dr. Zhang is in charge of 2 university teaching reform projects, and participates in 2 provincial teaching reform projects. He has co-authored 8 textbooks, and published 10 research papers on teaching. Dr. Zhang has received numerous awards at national, provincial or university level.
