日記帶Harry窺見了50年前密室的秘密後，已經顧不得睡覺了。
大半夜奔去羅恩的床鋪，「wake up」硬生生把他吵醒。
羅恩眯著一雙惺忪的睡眼，支起上半身，看著突然造訪的harry，
「what？What happened？」
Harry急不可耐「It was Hagrid.Hagrid opened the Chamber of Secrets 50 years ago.」
50年前那場Tom和海格的對峙，竟讓harry懷疑起了海格。
羅恩眨了眨眼睛，怎麼可能是海格？他掃了一眼harry一臉認真的表情，忽然迷惑了。
第二天早上，「 It can't be Hagrid. It just can't be.」當harry把50年前的事情描述給赫敏時，得到了她這樣的回應。
羅恩點明道「 We don't even know this Tom Riddle. He sounds like a dirty,rotten snitch to me.」
（snitch名詞告密者）（rotten腐朽的，惡劣的）
湯姆確實是個人們不喜的告發者，但是那是在有人死亡的前提下呀。
「The monster had killed somebody,Ron. What would any of us have done?」harry辯駁道。
看著harry神情如此激動，赫敏平靜道「Look,Hagrid's our friend. Why don't we just go and ask him about it?」
（why don't we do sth建議做某事）
赫敏的想法是開誠布公的談，但是羅恩有著不同的意見「That would be a cheerful visit."Hello,Hagrid...Tell us,have you been setting anything mad and hairy loose in the castle lately?」
（cheerful快樂的，愉悅的）（hairy多毛的
（海格，你最近有沒有釋放什麼又狂暴又多毛的東西進了城堡？）
羅恩想想就覺得尷尬，這是開誠布公的懷疑。
「Mad and hairy? You wouldn't be talking about me,now, would you?」熟悉的聲音炸響在羅恩的頭頂，羅恩整個人都僵硬了。
回頭一看，果然是海格。
Harry三人異口同聲「No」
看著三天左右搖晃的視線，即使是海格也能感受到不對勁來，這三人肯定隱瞞著什麼。
Harry趕緊轉移海格的注意力，他看到了海格拿著的巨型噴灑桶問道「 What's that you've got,Hagrid?」
「It's Flesh-Eating Slug Repellent. For the Mandrakes,you know.Now,according to Professor Sprout,they've still got a bit of growing up to do.」
（這是食肉鼻涕蟲的殺蟲劑。給曼德拉草用的。據斯普勞特教授說，曼德拉草還需要一些時間生長）
「But once their acne's cleared up,we'll be able to chop them up and stew them...and then we'll get those people down at the hospital un-Petrified.」
（但是一旦它們的粉刺消失，把它們切碎熬製，然後我們就能給躺在醫院的人解除石化）
三人一聽，那些醫院的人能夠恢復過來，都用勁得點點頭，很是欣慰。
（acne名詞粉刺，雀斑是freckle）（chop : 指用刀斧連續猛力砍某物，以便砍斷、切碎。這裡可以換成cut）（stew燉）海格接著提醒著「 In the meantime,though,you three...had best be looking after yourselves. All right?」
三人點頭如同小雞啄米。
