「熱點」 一詞可以說是考研英語中的重點，同學們也熱衷於各類熱點話題的背誦，其實從往年真題來看(以英語一為例)，每年的作文都會刻意避開當年社會熱點，而選擇一些普適性和大眾化的個人品質或常見的社會現象。
面對命題組這樣的操作，同學們對於瘋狂背誦幾十篇英語作文的去預測考題可以說是效率非常低的行為。
