Front cover: The iron-carbon filler and the wastewater in the internal-loop iron-carbon micro-electrolysis reactor are carried by the upward gas flow, which leads to pressure difference between riser and down-comer. In this process, the iron-carbon granules are cleaned because of the interphase force in the riser, and returned them to the down-comer. There are mainly two kinds of aeration effects, one is to provide driving force to make the bed circulates in reactor, and prevent iron–carbon generation from accumulating impurities, another is to cause an oxidizing condition in the riser with the continuous aeration, and a reducing condition in down-comer. This is beneficial to the treatment of wastewater special for the nitrification and denitrification in this reactor (see Zhang et al. Pages 737-744).
Back cover: The rising bubbles in the liquids with different viscosity were selected as the objective for this study. Three types of internal flow patterns were analyzed. The relationship between bubble shapes and internal flow patterns was investigated. Moreover, the rules about bubble deformation were concluded based on the pressure distribution and velocity vector. The rules can be used to explain the deformation of regular bubbles as well as irregular bubbles (see Li et al. Pages 745-758).
