China Methanol Import Volume Rallied

According to SCI’s statistics, the import volume in September is estimated at 981.6kt, up 6.6kt or 0.68% M-O-M from 975kt in August.

In terms of import origin, the import volume from Iran, Venezuela, Indonesia and Malaysia rose to 686.6kt, 34kt, 20kt and 34.5kt respectively. For Iranian cargoes, only about 31% of the cargoes flowed into the coastal public storage areas, and about 69% to the downstream plants. The import volume from Saudi Arabia, Trinidad and New Zealand decreased to 46.9kt, 38kt and 58.2kt respectively.

In terms of arrival ports, the volume of imported cargoes arriving in Jiangsu, Zhejiang and South China is estimated at 455.6kt, 332kt and 204.9kt respectively. The volume to Zhejiang and Jiangsu dropped, while that to South China rose notably.
