考生備考英語作文時，總是習慣於找各種各樣的模板背誦。對於我們的寫作備考而言，背誦一些素材是必不可少的，但是大部分考生都忽略了一個很重要的問題，那就是「如何審題」。我們通過審題，才能搞清楚題幹的內容，把握寫作方向，根據要求寫出合格的文章。下面，我們以具體題目為例，來給大家講講如何審小作文的題目。
例1：
Suppose your university is going to celebrate its 100th anniversary.write an email to former students of your university,providing them with relevant information about the celebration and inviting them to participate.
You should write about 100 words on the ANSWER SHEET.

正確的審題步驟：
1. 通過」email」判斷應用文類型為書信。
2. 通過」inviting」判斷信件類型是邀請信。
3. 通過」former students of your university」判斷收件人是誰，進一步判斷稱呼為：Dear Sir or Madam,因為收件人不是具體某一個人，而是一群人。
4. 內容要點為：providing them with relevant information about the celebration 和 inviting them to participate。
5. 署名為Li Ming
例2：
Suppose Professor Smith published a new book about cultural differences between China and America.Write him an email to
1. congratulate him,and
2. Invite him to deliver a lecture

正確的審題步驟：
1.通過」email」判斷應用文類型為書信。
2.通過」congratulate」判斷信件類型是祝賀信,通過」invite」判斷信件類型是邀請信,所以這是一個祝賀信和邀請信的結合體。
3.通過」former students of your university」判斷收件人是誰，進一步判斷稱呼為：Dear Sir or Madam,因為收件人不是具體某一個人，而是一群人。
4.內容要點為：congratulate him和 Invite him to deliver a lecture
5.署名為Li Ming
通過以上的分析，我們會發現小作文的審題主要是5大步驟，第一判斷應用文類型，第二判斷書信類型，第三判斷收件人是誰，第四判斷署名是誰，第五判斷書信的主要內容。審題就是由3大步驟構成的，第一判斷應用文類型，如果是通知的話，題幹中會出notice,announce,announcement這些關鍵詞，第二判斷通知的主要內容，第三判斷署名是誰。
總而言之，對於作文這個題目而言，審題是我們的第一步，也是非常重要的一步，一旦審題出現錯誤，後面的寫作就既浪費時間，又得不了分，得不償失。
