【Line 2】 Underneath the dense white fur, the mother bear skin is black to help absorb the meager heat of the Arctic sun. And beneath the skin lies a layer fat more than ten centimeters thick, which helps maintain body heat. 母熊濃密的白色毛皮下面是黑色的皮膚，這有助於吸收北極非常稀少的太陽熱量；而在皮膚下面，則是一層厚度超過十釐米的脂肪有助於維持體內熱量。

【Line 6】 Seals are the main source of food for polar bears, and whilst on the ice the pups are very vulnerable. The seals wean their pups within just two weeks so they can take to the sea as quickly as possible. 海豹是北極熊的主要食物來源，而小海豹在冰面上時極易遭到襲擊，海豹會在幼崽出生後僅兩周就斷奶以使它們能夠儘快地進入大海。

【Line 7】 Male hooded seals have an unique way of intimidating their rivals when competing for territory and females. The scarlet balloon is an elastic membrane blown out of one nostril. It holds around six liters of air and can inflate to the size of a football. 雄性冠海豹在爭奪領地和配偶時，會用一種獨特方式來威脅競爭對手。這種紅色氣囊是具有彈性的薄膜，通過一個鼻孔進行膨脹，它裡面含有六升的空氣，可以膨脹到一隻足球的大小。
