(複合形容詞的用法)
Firstly, definition: (Definition)
複合形容詞是指由兩個或兩個以上的單詞組成,用以修飾某個名詞的詞。
Secondly, structure :(Structure)
複合形容詞是由不同詞性的單詞通過連字符相互連接而構成的,相當於普通形容詞的用法,用來修飾名詞。它的結構有很多種,今天先跟著老師來學習其中的三種構成方式吧~
第一種構成:數詞+名詞(單數)
For example:
two-month (兩個月的)
The old man spent a two-month holiday with his family happily.
老人和他的家人愉快的度過了兩個假期。
90-year (九十年的)
The Chinese Communist Party (中國共產黨) has nearly 90-year history.
第二種構成:數詞+名詞(單數)+形容詞
For example:
twenty-meter-tall (兩米高的)
This is a twenty-meter-tall tree.
這棵樹有二十米高。
three-year-old (三歲的)
A three-year-old girl looks after her disabled father.
一個三歲的小女孩照顧她殘疾的父親。
Teacher: How old are you, Molly?
Molly: I am twelve years old.

Molly: I am a twelve-years-old girl.
Teacher: Good! 不過有一個小小的錯誤哦,老師剛剛說的複合形容詞中的名詞只能用原形哦。

最後一種構成:形容詞(副詞)+現在/過去分詞
For example:
hard-working (勤奮的)
well-paid (待遇優厚的)
In order to get a well-paid job, he studies hard.
他努力學習為了找到一分報酬好的工作。
well-educated (受過良好教育的)
His father is a well-educated farmer.
他的父親是一個受過良好教育的農民。
Teacher: 這種結構就類似於老師說的那句「You are a hard-working girl.」中的hard-working。還有一點要注意的就是,複合形容詞中單詞與單詞之間要有連字符哦~
Finally, 複合形容詞和形容詞一樣都是用來描寫或修飾名詞或代詞,表示人或事物的性質,狀態或特徵等。
它不同於形容詞的一點是在位置上(Position)複合形容詞主要用來作定語,並且只作前置定語,即要放在被修飾詞之前。
