With Shanghai Fashion Week around, and in support of the Shanghai 13-in-31 Challenge, Green Initiatives organizes a special screening of The True Cost, a film that focuses on fast fashion. This is GI's 75th monthly film screening to raise awareness of social and environmental issues through films.
上海時裝周前夕，為了支持上海13-in-31的挑戰，綠色倡議組織了特別的電影放映, 「時尚代價」,部2015年的紀錄片，專注於快速時尚。這是GI第75次每月電影放映，旨在通過電影來提高對社會和環境問題的意識。
The film discusses several aspects of the garment industry from production—mainly exploring the life of low-wage workers in developing countries—to its after-effects such as river and soil pollution, pesticide contamination, disease and death. Using an approach that looks at environmental, social and psychological aspects, it also examines consumerism and mass media, ultimately linking them to global capitalism.
這部電影討論了服裝行業的幾個方面 -主要是探索發展中國家的低收入工人的生活 – 包括生產方面到事後帶來的影響，如河流和土壤汙染，農藥汙染，疾病和死亡。除了考慮環境，社會和心理方面的角度，它還研究消費主義和大眾媒體，最終將其與全球資本主義聯繫起來。

Entrance fee of ¥50 for all registered guests, that includes snacks, juice and beer. ¥100 at-the-door for non-registered guests.

Film screening will be followed by a short discussion with Sophie Tsuei, one of the organizers of the 13-in-31 Challenge, that has been guiding consumers to creatively wear (and share photographs) 13 items of clothing in 31 days, while emphasizing on the negative impacts of fast fashion.
