Nightlife in Beijing: How to get free drinks being a foreigner?

Each day thousands of foreigners come to China looking for nightlife opportunities. Most of them are puzzled what place to visit to make their leisure time more productive and remarkable. What place to choose? It’s impossible to give the exact answer for this question, I would say, it depends. Some people prefer clubs with loud electronic bit, other category of youngsters prefer bars with live music.

Beijing offers wide range of opportunities for each and any taste; this is only the question of your choice what you consider as more preferable place. First club I have been to is still one of my favorite ones, if you are curious about the name, it's called 「Sirteen」. One of the reasons why I keep visiting this place is that because it is not just shake-your-ass place (which is already not bad by the way).

The directors organize special dancing shows, singing performances and invite popular DJ. The club is mostly oriented for extremely rich Chinese, who are able to pay big sums of money just to book the table. One of the factors of Chinese FANCY FANCY SUPER DUPER FANCY club is foreigner's presence inside the club. This comes along with the idea of 「face」 in the culture, Chinese people consider that even a foreigner is enjoying chilling in that club(and the figure of the foreign already characterizes you as a very intelligent and beautiful person), so that Chinese people will be able to feel relaxed there for sure. That is why clubs want may foreigners in the club; this fact gives a good image of it for the rest of Chinese youngsters. The club directors for their part offer many benefits for foreign people such as free drinks and food at times. Why not to use them?

In case you are interested in getting such great opportunities, all you need to do it find promoters, who can put you on the guest list. They also can consult you on some special offers of the night you are going there (on weekends the number for free drinks are limited at times). For another thing, if you can’t find any or you don’t have friends who are into the thing, what I recommend is going directly to the club and get in touch with promoters directly. Beijing has two main clubbing streets: Wudaokou and Sanlitun, these places are easy to find and hard to forget.

Wudaokou doesn’t have that many fancy clubs and chances to get free drinks there are lower, but the clubs there have more students and relaxed atmosphere. Sanlitun street has more offers and seems to be fancy at times. Anyway, wish you good luck and don’t forget to have a good time!
