僧人建造圍欄保護雪豹Monks Build Fences to Protect Snow Leopard文/尹杭
在青海的通天河沿岸，有一座歷史悠久的寺院——夏日寺。寺院有60名僧侶，數百年來，他們一直保護動物，包括高山兀鷲、白唇鹿等等。
Thereare 60 monks living in Xia Ri, a Tibetan monastery with long history in QinghaiProvince, China, near the Yangtze River. They have been protecting the animalsfor hundreds of years, including Himalayas Griffon, White lip deer and so on.
2004年，僧侶們在牧場附近建造了圍欄，試圖將犛牛和羊群限制在一定的區域。這些圍欄可以控制牲畜綿羊和犛牛，讓野生動物比如巖羊、白唇鹿有足夠的草地。2004年在他們的草場附近僅有6、7隻巖羊，但是現在，數量迅速地增加到大約160到170隻。正如我們所知，巖羊是雪豹的主要食物。
Monks in Xia Ri built fences near theirpasture in 2004, trying to limit their yaks and sheep in a certain region.These fences can control the livestock of the sheep and yaks, so that the wildanimals such as blue sheep, white lip deer would have enough grass land tolive. In 2004, there were only 6 or 7 blue sheep near their pasture. But now,the number has rapidly increased to some 160 to 170. As we know, Blue sheep is snow leopard main food.
2010年7月28日，僧侶僅用一個小的數位相機就拍到了雪豹。
