Green Solutions is a social enterprise located in the southwest China that advocates for a sustainable lifestyle, plant-based diet and organic food. We sell products that are carefully sourced, tested or used by us, 100% eco-friendly and cruelty-free and support environmentally conscious businesses and individuals in China and worldwide.

Our Projects
1. We currently sell eco-friendly products online but plan to open a brick-and-mortar shop in the future. We plan to launch a service selling organic vegetables using only reusable and sustainable packaging.
2. On the last Wednesday of each month, we organize a community film screening on an ongoing environmental issue with a talk by a guest speaker who gives a damn about our planet and a hands-on eco-friendly activity. This event brings people together and helps raise awareness about sustainability through fun activities.
3. Every month, we organize hikes to mountains in and around Kunming to pick up trash.
4. Green Solutions runs Zero Plastic Vegan Tours, a sustainable tour company that advocates for a plant-based diet and plastic-free lifestyle. We offer plastic-free vegan food tours at local wet markets, night markets and organic farms. There are currently two tours in Kunming and we seek to expand to other cities in southwest China；Dali would be the next one on the list.

4. Zero Plastic Vegan Tours(零塑素食遊) 是Green Solutions旗下的一個可持續的旅遊公司。提倡植物飲食和無塑料生活方式。我們會去當地的菜市場、夜市和有機農場等等。目前昆明有兩個素食遊活動。我們計劃擴展到中國西南部的其它城市。近期，我們會在大理開展此項目。

- Vegan Food Tour Guide (part time), you must be based in Kunming or Dali, have good command of English and speak conversational Mandarin.
As the business grows, volunteer positions could lead to paid positions.

Leo, Founder
Leo lives in Kunming and is vegan, a zero waste lifestyle practitioner, and off-the-beaten-track traveller. He is the founder of Green Solutions and Zero Plastic Vegan Tours. When you can't find him biking around in Kunming or roaming around in a market, he is probably hiding somewhere in a secluded village. He also works as a tour guide with tour companies in Yunnan which are environmentally conscious and value the cultural diversity and heritage of Chinese minority groups.
Leo, 創始人
現住雲南。素食者，零浪費生活方式實踐者，同時也是個偏僻線路旅行者。Green Solutions(無塑料零售店)和Zero Plastic Vegan Tours(零塑素食遊）創始人。如果你在昆明的大街上看不到他騎單車或者菜場裡也找不到他，那他肯定又是藏到哪個無名的小村子裡了。他同時在和一些在雲南對環境友好，重視傳統中國少數民族文化多樣性和文化遺傳的旅遊公司合作，提供導遊服務 。
Rachel Dragos, English Editor
Rachel Dragos is a writer, educator, learner, and traveller. She is currently based Guangzhou where she teaches chemistry and physics at an international school. She was born outside Boston and lived in Ohio and San Francisco before moving abroad. Rachel joined Green Solutions as a volunteer after attending a wet market vegan tour with Leo in Kunming . When Rachel is not teaching, lesson planning, or writing, you can probably find her reading a book or planning her next adventure.

龍瑞秋是一位作家、教育家、學習者和旅行者。她目前在廣州的一所國際學校裡教化學和物理。她出生在波士頓郊區，移居國外之前，曾在俄亥俄州和舊金山居住。Rachel在參加了Leo在昆明的菜市場素食之旅後，深受Green Solutions和Zero Plastic Vegan Tours項目使命的鼓舞，希望盡她所能地為這個不斷發展的組織提供支持和幫助。在Rachel不教書、備課或寫作的時候，她很可能正在讀一本書或者計劃她下一個旅行。
Rachel Ma, Chinese Editor, Event Coordinator
Rachel Ma is a former educator and a life long learner who was always passionate about volunteer service for the needy when she lived in Shanghai. Since she relocated to Kunming last year, she has been looking for an organization that would make a difference. That’s how she got to know Green Solutions and was inspired by its sustainable projects that help raise public awareness on environmental protection. She is grateful to be able to help out as a part of the team.
Rachel now works in an adventure travel company in Kunming as she loves to be close to mother nature and admire and embrace its beauty.

Yuki Zhou, Translator
Yuki works as the operations assistant in an international toy company. Due to the impact of coronaviris, she is currently working from home. She was born in Kunming and studied, worked and traveled in different cities within and outside of China. Yuki realized the urgency and importance of climate actions and changed to plant-based diet few years ago. She found Leo’s project by accident and felt very delighted that there was such a nice project and organization in Kunming, her hometown. After contacting Leo, she was invited to be involved in this organization as a volunteer. She』d like to help with the translation and other exciting tasks. She wishes more and more people would be aware of the urgency of environmental issues and take actions together to create an eco-friendly and sustainable relationship with the nature.

Niki, Photo Editor
Niki was born in Hungary. She moved to China in 2018 and now is a master’s student at Fudan University in Shanghai. Due to the impact of the coronavirus, currently she is in Hungary but hopes she can move back to China soon. Niki joined Green Solutions as a volunteer after a friend of her told her about Leo's project. She is basically a travel junkie and an adventure-seeker. Kunming is on her travel bucket list, and she got really excited that she can be a part of this project and promote a sustainable and eco-friendly lifestyle.

Yilin, Photo Editor
Yilin is a nature person. Every time she goes somewhere new, she heads right to the local wet market, because they are full of energy, and you can find exotic and new things there but you can`t find anywhere else. She spent her childhood in Shenzhen witnessing rapid modernization and the disappearance of traditional markets and the characteristics of the city. She found Leo`s article about the wet market in Kunming by accident. She hopes the wet markets in China can still retain their fun and traditional quality during development. As a vegan, she also pays attention to environmental protection and supports Leo’s concept. Yilin hopes more people can join and take actions to protect our homeland.

意琳喜歡自然，每到一處旅遊，首先會去的地方就是當地的老菜市場，因為那裡仍舊保留著濃厚的人情味，更有些稀奇古怪的東西。從小生活在深圳，意琳看著這座城市快速的步入現代化，傳統的市場也都改了新面貌，鄉土氣息也消失得無影無蹤了。在偶然間看到Leo的公眾號裡面關於昆明菜市場的介紹後，意琳感覺很是有親切感，她希望傳統菜市場在城市發展的同時也能保留它特有的人文氣息。作為一名素食主義者，意琳也很注重環保。看到Leo所提倡的環保理念，很是合拍。她希望更多人能夠接受並採取行動，共同維護好我們的家園。

Abby, Translator, Chinese Editor
Abby was born in Kunming and is a university student. She likes to do volunteer work and cares about environment issues. After the recommendation of a foreign teacher, she became involved with Green Solutions, a social enterprise based in Yunnan. She hopes that an increasing number of people will pay more attention to environmental problems and contribute their talents to tackling them.

Carol, Translator
Due to COVID 19, Carol currently lives in Kunming. She finished high school in Changmai, Thailand and attended the University of Waterloo in Canada last year. She has a strong multicultural background. She is majoring in life science and is interested in marine biology. Carol got to know Green Solutions through one of their film screening events. With the interest of gaining experience by working with people and a desire to help this program in some way, she volunteered to do translation work between Chinese and English.

Morgan，English Editor
Born and raised in the US, Morgan has always felt a calling towards nature and sustainability and has always felt living simply, sustainably, and in harmony with nature was the best way to live.
After graduating college with a degree in international business in 2016, Morgan began his marketing career at a Dutch-based tech company, but ultimately felt his work career was misaligned with his tree-hugging passions. That led him to quit his job at the end of 2019, move to China, and begin working for a solar company, helping the world transition away from fossil fuels.
In his spare time, Morgan enjoys spending his time outdoors, hiking, running, and encouraging others to explore plant-based diets and zero-waste lifestyles.

Coquina Restrepo，Content Writer
Coquina is a content writer for several groups focusing on sustainability and education. She writes about the urban environment, the science behind learning and design solutions for sustainability and learning.
Originally from the US, she currently works as an ESL and science teacher in Shanghai. She enjoys teaching literacy through interactive games and books about science. Coquina can speak fluent English and conversational Spanish.
When she isn’t writing, Coquina enjoys cycling, urban photography, reading, and creating comic books.
