AJR is an American indie pop band composed of multi-instrumentalist brothers Adam, Jack and Ryan Met.
(DIY band)
They started street performing when they were very young.
Using the money they made from busking, the AJR brothers bought instruments to the living room of their New York City apartment, where they have been making their music ever since.
Last time that I saw your face
Was recess in second grade
And it made me feel young
Won't you help me sober up
Growing up it made me numb
And I want to feel something again
AJR says,
"'Sober Up' is about that first crush in elementary school.
I have a crush on you.
Before you knew what love was, and reminiscing: questioning if you can ever get back to that simplicity in an emotion."
"The idea came when Ryan and I were in college.
We did our first couple of semesters at Columbia, we were experiencing the whole college vibe, going to parties and doing that sort of thing."
"And then there was a time where we just started getting depressed a little bit. We started getting sad because we felt a little bit too grown up,
because one of the things we kind of pride ourselves on is staying young and having that little-kid experience. 」
「And we thought that we felt a little bit too adult and we wanted to go back to that feeling we used to have in elementary and middle school,
where we kind of just liked a girl and that's all there was to it. 'I just like this person without having all of that other baggage that comes along with it.'」
」I think that was probably the most valuable thing we did in our entire career.」
Because the street performing in the park has taught them how to intrigue an audience.

Because we actually played that show for them they became lifelong fans...I think we grew because we paid attention to every single person who cared.
多年前樓下的阿姨還上來敲過門,對他們說:「Make sure not to quit your day job!」
