正在接受新冠治療的美國總統川普於美國東部時間5日傍晚出院返回白宮，但其醫療團隊說，川普還未痊癒。
After spending three nights at the Walter Reed medical center, President Trump returned on Monday evening to the White House, where he will continue to receive treatment for COVID-19. His physician, Dr. Sean P. Conley, had said earlier in the day that the president was not 「out of the woods yet.」
在沃爾特·裡德國家軍事醫療中心住院3天後，川普於5日晚返回白宮，並將在白宮繼續接受治療。川普的醫生肖恩·康利在當天早些時候稱，總統尚未「完全脫離危險」。

After exiting Marine One, Trump entered the White House through the Blue Room balcony. He walked upstairs from the South Portico. He then took off his mask while on the balcony and put it in his pocket while he gave two thumbs up.當天下午，川普的醫療團隊在記者會上表示，在過去24小時裡，川普的情況持續好轉，臨床狀態已符合或超出出院標準。醫療團隊還表示，此前川普出現兩次血氧量下降，都接受了「補充氧氣」。

出院前幾個小時，川普在推特上預告了這一消息，他說自己「感覺好極了」（Feeling really good! ）。他呼籲人們不要害怕新冠肺炎，不要讓它支配自己的生活（Don't be afraid of COVID. Don’t let it dominate your life.），他表示，在川普政府的領導下，美國研發了很多藥物並掌握了相關知識。
川普抵達白宮後又在推特發布了兩條競選風格的視頻（campaign-style video），其中一則視頻展現出他乘專機回白宮的畫面，在另一則視頻中，他再次表達了「不要讓新冠支配自己的生活」的觀點，並稱美國研發了「世界上最好的藥物」（We have the best medicines in the world）：
不過，川普的這一言論遭來不少批評，許多人指出，並不是每個人都能獲得和他一樣的治療條件。《今日美國》稱：
Trump has received around-the-clock care at Walter Reed and therapies not widely available to most patients experiencing mild symptoms. And so the president drew criticism from some for suggesting, as he did a tweet Monday, that Americans should not "be afraid of Covid. Don't let it dominate your life."
川普在沃爾特·裡德國家軍事醫療中心接受全天候看護，他所接受的治療手段是大多數輕症患者都無法獲得的。所以總統5日在推特上說美國人不應當「害怕新冠，不要讓它支配你的生活」時，遭來了不少批評。
