10月28日上午10時08分，重慶市萬州區長江二橋上一輛公交客車與一輛小轎車相撞後墜入長江中。從昨天起，這起事故就牽動著無數人的心。
目前，現場救援正在緊張進行中，截至昨日13點，現場已打撈出兩名人員遺體。
A bus plunged into the Yangtze River from a bridge in southwestern China's Chongqing Municipality after it crashed into a car on Sunday morning.
Two of the ten passengers have been confirmed dead, and a rescue operation is underway.
初步調查：公交車越線撞向正常行駛小轎車
據悉，出事的22路公交車是環線行駛，始發站和終點站都是鞍子壩港口。當時22路公交車由萬州區江南新區往北濱路行駛。當車行駛至萬州長江二橋橋上時，與一輛由城區往江南新區行駛的小型轎車相撞。經初步事故現場調查，系公交客車在行駛中突然越過中心實線，撞擊對向正常行駛的小轎車後衝上路沿，撞斷護欄，墜入江中。此前，有媒體報導稱是女司機逆行撞上公交車，致公交車墜江，該信息不實。
根據調查訪問、調取公交客車沿線監控視頻，初步確認當時公交客車共有駕乘人員10多人。
According to a preliminary investigation, the bus crossed over the line marking the center of the bridge and crashed into the car that was driving normally on the other side.
Initial reports said the bus was trying to avoid a head-on collision with the car which was driving in the wrong lane.
Chongqing police released the preliminary result of Sunday's investigation, saying more than 10 people were on the bus when the incident happened.
The police also said that the bus had veered across the road into the oncoming traffic and crashed into the car before it plunged into the Yangtze River.
The car was driving in the correct lane, according to the statement, refuting previous media reports that the car was in the wrong lane.
目前，小型轎車駕駛員已被警方控制，並在醫院接受治療。相關事故原因正在調查中。
The private car driver is being treated in hospital and is under police watch.
搜救工作全面開展 水下水情複雜
公交車墜入長江後，公安、交通等部門趕往現場全力施救。截至目前，共70多艘船隻圍繞公交車墜江水域全面開展搜救。救援面臨的主要難點是江水較深、水域複雜。蛙人救援隊、水下機器人、吊船等專業打撈力量正全力開展工作。

據CGTN當日下午3時10分報導，萬州公交墜江事故發生後，武警重慶總隊船艇支隊立即啟動水上搶險救援預案，第一時間抽調駐守萬州的三大隊12名兵力、3艘船隻趕往現場救援；包括17名潛水員在內的24名專業人員攜帶打撈救援專業設備從南岸區緊急馳援萬州。
The Armed Police Force in Chongqing has dispatched 12 soldiers and three rescue boats to the area for the search operation. Another group of 24 rescuers, which includes 17 divers, has also rushed to the scene.
據CGTN當晚10時30分報導，中國最大的非政府人道救援隊伍藍天救援隊，也派出了88名人員參與到救援之中。
Blue Sky Rescue Team, China's largest non-governmental humanitarian organization, has sent 88 people to join the operation.
經過專業技術分析，現場搜救人員基本判明公交車沉水位置，車輛位於水下約68米處。28日16時30分左右,水下機器人開始第一次下潛，準備通過其攜帶的高清攝像設備，將相關視頻信息傳輸給救援人員。但由於水下水情複雜，水下機器人在第一次下潛30多米後，被迫上升返回。救援人員準備另擇下潛地點，儘快達到公交車沉沒位置。
此外，相關部門通過聲納設備，已初步確定公交車位置。救援團隊認為下圖中的長方形為出事的22路公交車。

60噸浮吊已到現場 準備吊起墜江公交車
據《四川日報》記者從四川路橋集團獲悉，四川路橋集團的大型浮吊昨日中午趕到事故發生現場，準備吊起墜江大巴車。
相關負責人表示，項目部距萬州二橋僅4公裡左右，當天中午接到當地政府指令後，項目部立即組織了一架可載重60噸的浮吊和有經驗的操作人員前往，13時許抵達墜江現場。根據大巴車落水地點正在操控浮吊定位，因大巴車較大，根據大巴車尺寸，工作人員正在現場編織特殊鋼絲繩。待現場救援指揮部敲定救援方案後，即可展開救援。
Latest reports said the sunken bus has been located more than 60 meters underwater.
A 60-tonne floating crane is now in place and will be used to lift the bus out of the river.
