Guangzhou to change the look of taxis

The color of all new taxis entering the market and offering service within Guangzhou city should be orange starting today (February 1), according to a notice from the city's Transportation Bureau.
Taxi enterprises operating 1,500 taxis or more can apply to relevant administrative departments for painting vehicles colors of their own brands, said the bureau. The policy will remain in place for five years.
Guangdong resumes normal residence permit service

Guangdong province will resume its normal service on residence permit endorsement as of today, according to the provincial Public Security Department.
The extension for residence permit endorsement, which was launched in last February to allow people whose permits were expiring to live in the province amid pandemic, will be canceled, the department added.
Under the adjustment, residence permit for Guangdong not endorsed after February 1 will be deemed overdue, with all functions of the residence permit suspended.
Purchasing drugs at pharmacies requires ID card

China has unveiled new regulations encouraging more medical institutions and retail pharmacies to link up with the country's medical insurance system for reimbursements.
Licensed medical institutions and retail pharmacies that have been in operation for at least three months can apply for a tie-up with the medical insurance scheme, said the National Healthcare Security Administration.
The new regulation, going into effect from February 1, also stipulates that a valid personal identity card or other certification will be required when buying medicine at retail pharmacies with medicare cards.
Public service account banned from forcing users to subscribe to other public accounts
Public accounts offering information service to Internet users, such as WeChat accounts, will be banned from compulsively requiring, in a direct or disguised form, its users to subscribe to other public accounts without their consent.
The rule, set to go into force on February 22, is issued by the country's cyberspace administration in a bid to standardize such platforms' management on account subscription.
Management tightened in occupational workplaces

The National Health Commission has issued a circular strengthening enterprises' responsibility of preventing occupational disease in workplaces, as of February 1.
Under the policy, employers should truthfully inform the employees of possible occupational diseases and consequences, relative prevention measures and treatment when the two parties are signing a labor contract.
Employees are empowered to refuse to engage in work that would possibly induce occupational disease if the employer violates the regulation. Under this circumstance, the enterprise can not terminate the labor contract with the employee for his or her refusal to work.
Further, employers are requested to offer its employees protective equipment against occupational illnesses, instead of money or other goods.
