Protopaper is an independent publishing company that integrates printing, publishing and distribution. It is a pioneering platform for promoting youth culture in the ancient city of Xi'an.
Protopaper hopes to tap, practice and disseminate the value of handmade prints and more possibilities at different levels to turn all the printed texts and images into real objects, including but not limited to fiction, poetry, comic books, photo books, posters, Magazine (zine), and the design and exploration of printing peripheral derivatives.
Since our establishment, we occasionally host workshops, small solo exhibitions, and sell physical prints from other publishing houses to help top independent publishers promote their work and spread the independent publishing culture to a wider audience.
