Gaimersheim is characterized by the plains of Retzbach which cross the center of the village. Already in 2006 the first considerations were made to improve the water regulation of the area. A second goal was to improve the perception of the place. The special location in the middle of the city could have been exploited for the creation of a park. More intensely designed areas have been created along the edges, with several plantations of shrubs and herbaceous plants. The surface waters were conducted openly to the lowest point in a depressed area. A new system of branched paths has been created, which leads along the stream towards the open landscape. By creating recreational areas near water, the perception and experience of the plains and the stream have significantly improved and the existing peculiarities of this landscape area are enhanced
