A giant dragon robe has appeared in a field in east China's Jiangsu Province, after local villagers spent four months growing their crops to form the shape.

The robe is over 190 meters long and 150 meters wide, and creating it was a formidable task.

As it was difficult to survey and sketch the shape of the robe, the villagers set over 15,000 positioning points in the field and planted rapeseed, wheat and bushes according to the points.

After four months of hard work, the dragon robe finally emerged.

The local government will establish a more-than-10-meter-high viewing deck to enable tourists to better appreciate the robe.

To add even more excitement for visitors, the robe contains a design of two dragons playing with a ball that is not just a decoration, but also a maze.

Dragon robes were the everyday dress for Chinese emperors after the Sui Dynasty (581-618 AD).
