A Chinese influencer(網紅) has died after her ex-husband(前夫) allegedly(據稱) doused(潑水) her in petrol(汽油) and set(放) fire to her as she was attempting(嘗試) to live stream(直播), said local(當地) media(媒體) reports.
Lamu was popular(流行的) on Douyin, China’s version(版本) of TikTok(抖音), where she had hundreds of thousands(千) of followers(關注者).
Lamu suffered(受害) burns(燒) on 90% of her body and died two weeks after the attack(攻擊).
The case(案) has prompted(促使) conversation(會話) on social media(社交媒體) about violence(暴力) against(對) women.
Lamu, 30, from China’s Sichuan province(省), was known for her happy posts(發帖) on rural(農村) life and was praised(讚美) for not using make up(化妝) in her videos(視頻), which had millions(百萬) of likes(點讚).
According(按照) to state-media(國媒) outlet the Beijing Youth Daily(日報), Lamu’s screen(屏幕) went black soon after she started livestreaming(直播) on 14 September.
Her ex-husband(前夫), identified(驗證身份) only by his surname(姓) Tang, had allegedly(據稱) broken into her house armed(持武器) with a knife and petrol(汽油).
A statement(聲明) said that after the attack(攻擊) on 14 September, she was taken to a local(當地) hospital and later transferred(轉移) to Sichuan Provincial(省) People’s Hospital for further(進一步) treatment(治療).
Her family asked her followers(關注者) for financial(金融) help and more than one million(百萬) yuan was raised(上升) in just 24 hours, according(按照) to The Paper.
Lamu died on 30 September.
What led(引起) to this?
According(按照) to the Beijing Youth Daily, Tang reportedly(據報導) had a history(前科) of domestic violence(家庭暴力).
Lamu’s brother-in-law(姐夫妹夫), identified(驗證身份) as Mr Luo, said he had heard his wife "mention(提到) that her sister was often beaten(打) by Tang.
Lamu reportedly(據報導) divorced(離婚) Tang earlier this year in May - the pair(一對) have two children, and each gained(獲得) custody(監護) of one child.
Shortly(立刻) afterwards(之後), Tang threatened(威脅) to kill(殺死) one child if Lamu did not re-marry(復婚) him, said the news report.
She did, but ended up(最終) running away from him. Unable(不能) to find her, he reportedly(據報導) questioned(問) her relatives(親戚) - Lamu’s sister, who refused(拒絕) to reveal(告知) her whereabouts(下落), was also beaten(打) by Tang.
Family members(成員) said this incident(事件) was reported to the police who, according(按照) to them, took no action(行動).
She eventually(最終) divorced(離婚) him again and he gained(獲得) custody(監護) of both children.
