After the Second World War , drug smuggling in Mexico flourished due to the rising demand for drugs in the United States.Meanwhile,drug cartels gradually formed and controlled the different drug-trafficking routes.Besides,in Mexico, the department of justice and police corrupted and colluded with drug cartels. Thus the drug cartels in Mexico have been expanding continually.
