Nostalgia
When I was young,
Nostalgia was a tiny, tiny stamp,
Me on this side,
Mother on the other side.
When I grew up,
Nostalgia was a narrow boat ticket,
Me on this side,
My bride on the other side.
But later on,
Nostalgia was a lowly grave,
Me on the outside,
Mother on the inside.
And at present,
Nostalgia becomes a shallow strait,
Me on this side,
Mainland on the other side.
《鄉愁》
小時候，
鄉愁是一枚小小的郵票，
我在這頭，
母親在那頭。
長大後，
鄉愁是一張窄窄的船票，
我在這頭，
新娘在那頭。
後來啊，
鄉愁是一方矮矮的墳墓，
我在外頭，
母親在裡頭。
而現在，
鄉愁是一灣淺淺的海峽，
我在這頭，大陸在那頭。

一、Nostalgia [nɒ'stældʒə]
鄉愁，懷舊之情
例句：The feeling was not nostalgia, for that far country was no home for him now.
這種感覺不是鄉愁，因為那個遙遠的國家現在已經不是他的家了。
二、Tiny ['taɪnɪ]
微小的
例句：Her dress was beautifully tucked with tiny stitches.
她用密針在衣服上縫了很好看的褶襇。
三、Narrow ['nærəʊ]
狹窄的
例句：We inched along a narrow pass.
我們穿過一條狹窄的通道。
四、Lowly ['ləʊlɪ]
謙卑的，位置低下
例句：While we were hiking through the forest, we stumbled upon a lowly cottage.
我們在去遠足的途中穿過一個森林的時候，偶然發現了一座小矮屋。
五、Shallow ['ʃæləʊ]
淺的
例句：He looks up from the shallow grave to see Sarah walking towards him.
從淺淺的墳墓這裡，他抬頭看到他的妻子正向他走來。
六、Strait [streɪt]
海峽
例句：We will transit the strait at night.
我們將在夜間通過那個海峽。
