Tonight we bring together two successful short story writers, Zoe Gilbert from the UK, who recently won the Costa Short Story Prize, and Jiang Yitan 蔣一談 from Beijing, who has published several short story collections. Join them for readings and an interactive discussion about what makes for a successful story in any language.

Songs of Liangshan 涼山之歌 / Aku Wuwu
Professor Qingchen Luo (阿庫烏霧 Aku Wuwu) is a successful poet and professor at Southwest University of Minorities. His poems, written in both Chinese and the Yi language, Nuosu, explore and celebrate aspects of Yi culture. Tonight he presents an evening of poetry, including dynamic performances by some of his students, and answers questions on Yi culture and mother tongue literature.
