A barrage of questions on Paris Saint-Germain's 2-1 defeat to Manchester United in the UEFA Champions League forced head coach, Thomas Tuchel, to revert to speaking in English in order to defend his position at the club on Friday.
周五,巴黎聖日耳曼足球俱樂部主教練託馬斯 · 圖切爾被迫回到英語歐洲冠軍聯賽,以捍衛自己在俱樂部的地位。
Thomas Tuchel, Paris Saint-Germain head coach:
(Tuchel reverts to English to explain his position at the club after repeated questions on 2-1 defeat to Man U in UCL)
"This is exactly why I don't read, why I don't google my name. No, I do in English. Why I don't read nothing, why I'm not on the Internet. I don't google my name. I know how difficult it is here.
And, this is okay for me. I expect nothing else. We face this. I can imagine what it looks outside. I can rely on myself for my staff and everybody here and I do. And on my relationship with the team. And this is what I'm going to do. And we will produce results, hopefully. Because this what is necessary."
The German coach also felt the need to defend his star players saying that "they are not robots," and can make mistakes, especially against a side with "almost the same market value," than PSG.
Tuchel ended on a positive note claiming that his side will "bounce back because that is what the team has always done."
Thomas Tuchel, Paris Saint-Germain head coach:
(on PSG players not being robots, and like all can make mistakes - referring to Man U defeat)
"In the end, we need also to accept that the guys are human, that they are not robots, that it's that we played against a strong side (Man U) with almost the same market value than us. And, we need to accept that. It's like this in football. And if you have a wrong day, a bad day, there are many reasons for that. I take the responsibility this is no problem at all."
