Artificial stone, also known as solid plate or solid surface material, is a mineral filled polymer composite material composed of natural mineral powder, high-performance resin and natural pigment, formed by vacuum casting and molding.
人造石又被稱為實心板材或實體面材，是一種由天然礦石粉、高性能樹脂和天然顏料組成，經過真空澆鑄和模壓成型而形成的礦物填充型高分子複合材料。
The Corian artificial stone was developed by dupont in the mid-1960s and was the first artificial stone in the world. It is widely used in many fields, such as mesa stairs, indoor and outdoor walls, etc.
而可麗耐人造石則是由美國杜邦公司在20世紀60年代中期所研究發明，是世界上第一塊人造石。因其具有環保抗汙、輕盈可塑等特點，被廣泛應用於臺面階梯、室內外牆體等多種領域。
