Athletic as shit, played lockdown D, was a tremendous passer and extremely quick. He was ahead of his time when it came to the athletic point guard who also liked to score a lot.
Then Shaq defected, Penny got hurt multiple teams and it all went downhill for a while.

Just watch him go against Mike and Scottie in the 1996 Eastern Conference Finals.
I love his game, he was a complete player. Highly athletic and gifted with great basketball IQ. Could play in the post, could shoot a great jumper, could get to the rim at will. A solid defender. He was a consummate playmaker. Just a joy to watch.

From what I can remember Penny was a beast that was honestly derailed by injuries. Michael Jordan was Michael Jordan, but Penny was so good and popular at that time. Here in Toronto I saw a LOT of Penny Hardaway jerseys second to Jordan. Mind you, I was still in elementary school at this time.
