【Event Form】：visiting Musée Titan + exploring culture and art in Dongshan + Tasting local snacks of Guangzhou
Yuexiu is one of the most historic area in Guangzhou, so it is a must-go place. Dongshankou standing in Yuexiu is a new tourist attraction which contains various elements including western-style buildings, fine food and dongshan culture. Dongshan area is named after Dongshan Temple. This temple was built by a eunuch Mr. Wei. Mr. Wei bullied the common people and at the same time prayed to the buddha frequently. He even built the Dongshan Temple at the east of a hummock and put his own statue there. Therefore, people also called that Eunuch Temple.
So what does Dongshan have?
1.Musée Titan
Many art spaces and galleries chose Dongshan and Musée Titan is the most recommended one.
Musée Titan, the Lounge of Guangzhou, is designed by Paul Andreu, the international architect and this is his only museum work in the world. Titan often has surprising exhibitions and is a base for international art communication in Southern China. It can also be hired for private meetings and events.

2. ART11
This is a comprehensive art space based on a gallery. It intends to let art walk into life and make lives full of art.
Events: regular exhibitions, oil paintings class, printmaking class, Guzheng saloon, reading session, poem session, movie saloon, music session and photography session.
3.Church of Dongshankou
It is said that Dongshankou had monks until the time of early republic of China, but nowadays no temple is left here anymore. But we still can see some tracks from some streets』 name in this area. Take Miao(廟) Qian(前） Zhi（直） street and Si(寺）Bei(貝) Tong(通) Jin(津) these two streets as examples. Both Miao(廟）and Si(寺）mean temple in Chinese and Bei(貝) has the same pronunciation as Bei背(背means back and 寺貝 means the back side of the temple).
In the year of 1906, missionaries came to Guangzhou and started to preach Gospel in Dongshan. They set up this church around the the Dongshan Temple. Now the Church of Dongshankou is the biggest Christian Church in GUangzhou.
At that time, new buildings are built including Xu Gu Yuan(orphanage), Pui Ching Academy, Pui To Women Middle School (now is Guangzhou No.7 middle school). Because of the Church of Dongshankou and these schools, the rich were willing to build their houses and villas and settle down in Dongshan.
The settlement of the rich in Dongshan created a pass-on saying 『people with power and influence live in Dongshan』 and a new word 『Dongshan Shaoye』(Shaoye means the son from a rich family).
Dongshankou has a number of houses including Guigang villa cluster, Jiangling villa cluster, Qingming Villa cluster, Xinhepu villa cluster, Xuguyuan road villa cluster, Pui Ching Road villa cluster.
Exploring the historical and peaceful places: Five Villas
Chun Villa, Jian Villa, Kui Villa, Ming Villa and Yu Villa are the most splendid among the existing houses.
Chun Villa
Xinhepu Road No.22-26
Chun Villa is a three-stories building, which was living place for Chen Duxiu, Li Dazhao, Mao Zedong, the representatives of 3th National Congress of the Communist Party of China. It is transformed as a museum now.
Jian Villa, Ming Villa
Pui Ching Road No.13, No.8-14
The lumpy beige wall shows the Mediterranean style. These two villas were the mansions of Jian brothers, the founders of Nanyang Brothers Tobacco Company during the Republic of China. Later they were used as German Consulate.
Kui Villa
Xu Gu Yuan Road No. 9
Ma Zhuo Wen, American Chinese, built this villa. It is said that the site of 3th National Congress of the Communist Party of China was hard to be found, so that participants had to take Kui Villa as a landmark in order to find out the site.
Yu Villa
Si Bei Tong Jin No. 42&44
Yu Villa was designed by Wu Jingying who had studied in Britain and America. The movie The Execution Ground on a Wedding (1980) had taken this place as one of the filming locations.
There are many interesting shops hiding at some secret lanes and corners such as owl cafe and Qing Villa vintage shop which is one of the very few vintage shops in Guangzhou. In addition, a lot of designer studios can be found there.
At night, people can also enjoy the beautiful night views while walking in Dongshanhu Park.

Shi Hui Li
Shi Hui Li is a authentic Xiao Long Bao restaurant run by the Shanghai Xu Ji. The restaurant is always full of customers, because they like the delicate taste of Xiao Long Bao. The Xiao Long Bao here is a little bigger than the usual because more flour is used in order to tightly keep the plentiful gravy of the filing. The price is also fair enough, only 10 yuan for one basket. No one can get this quality and price of Xiao Long Bao in other restaurants in Guangzhou. Therefore, many people see Shi Hui Li as their canteen.
Fengwei Guan
Fengwei Guan has stood in Dongshan over 20 years, selling the beef offal soup. It only sells three big pots of soup every day and as soon as the soup is sold out the shop will close. The chef keeps the temperature of the soup between 80℃-90℃ to make sure your taste bud will not lose its sensitiveness. Many gourments appreciate this point very much.
Kuang Jia Shi Mo La Chang
This restaurant uses buhrimill to grind the rice into thick liquid at low temperature and at a slow speed. The recommendations in menu have Changfen, Sesame paste and soybean milk. The dishes are cheap with big portions. The most expensive choice of Changfen or porridge only costs 10 yuan. The plates for making the Changfen are bigger than the one in other shops. Kuang provides comfortable dining environment and WIFI as well as music. It combines the traditional Changfen shop into a new style in a perfect way.

Team leaders will organise the group visit in Musée Titan and then everyone can enjoy the art time there and if you have good pictures, do not forget to share in our Wetchat group in time so that other group members can also come and see the wonderful places you found.
Step 4：15:00~16:00 Visiting the Art 11 and the Church of Dongshankou
The smart founder of Art 11 will introduce what occurred to the historical villa which art space now situates. On Sunday, the church will have service, so please keep quiet and do not take photos with flash there.
Step 5：16:00~17:30 Visiting the villa clusters and Five Villas
Members who like photography and riding can keep roaming in Dongshankou and visiting the villa clusters and Five Villas
Step 6：17:30~18:00 End
After this event, members can freely dine together in Dongshankou, tasting the local snacks or going to the restaurants in villas.
