Day 1: Datong Arrival & Datong Tour
Please take a morning flight to Datong airport by 10am on your own.
Upon your arrival at Datong Airport, the local English-speaking tour guide and driver will pick you up from the exit gate by holding a welcome board with your name and starts your exploration.
Firstly, drive westwards to Yungang Grottoes. As the first batch of key cultural relics under state protection, also on the world heritage list, Yuagang Grottoes has a highly cultural and artistic meaning. It not only shows the traditional Chinese artistic style, but also incorporates the art characteristics of ancient India, the western regions and the Central Plain. Yungang Grottoes is the beginning of the "sinicization" of Chinese grotto art which mainly stores 45 grottoes and 51,000 stone statues.
Later, continue your visit to Shanhua Temple which is a Buddhist temple with a great fusion of Han culture in the Song Dynasty and ancient northern ethnic culture of Jin and Liao Dynasties. Although it’s lesser-visited compared with other Datong attractions, the artistic level of relics there including sculptures, wall paintings and ancient architectures show a pretty high level.
Last, pay a visit to The Nine-Dragon Wall, built in the late Ming Dynasty, which is composed of colored glaze. Nine dragons are different in shape and form, each of which is connected by water grass, white clouds and rocks. It presents the superb sculpture skills of ancient China.

Day 2: Datong Tour & Datong Departure
Today the first site will be the Hanging Temple. Located between the cliffs of Mt. Hengshan, it is the only unique temple in China that integrates Buddhism, Taoism and Confucianism. The whole monastery is built in a wooden framework structure. Though not very big, it astonishes people by the building design that relies on a mortise joint and embeds into the cliff without falling down. Owning a history of over 1,500 years, Hanging Temple has earned compliments from many notable literati and poets in their works.
Later, come to "China’s First Wooden Pagoda", Yingxian Wooden Pagoda which shares the same fame of 「Three Marvelous Towers in the World」 with Leaning Tower of Pisa and Eiffel Tower. Built in 1056 of the Khitan-led Liao Dynasty, it is a well-deserved miracle in the architectural history, just imagine: a complete wooden-structured tower of 65.84 meters (like a 20-floor modern building) without a single iron nail survived in 40 earthquakes, 200 shooting and bombarding as well as countless thunder and lightning…amazing, right? Maybe the precious relics of Sakyamuni’s 2 teeth stored here echoed the Pogoda’s tough personality and bless it with immeasurable Buddhist power.
After the tour, you will head to Datong airport for departure flight.

第一天：到達大同

第一站遊覽雲岡石窟，雲岡石窟景區分為景觀區和石窟群，是中國三大石窟之一，雕刻融合了中西藝術風格，感受北魏藝術精品的魅力。雲岡石窟不僅有中國傳統藝術風格，也融合了古印度、西域和中原各民族的藝術特徵，是大同市有名的歷史古蹟。
之後遊覽善化寺。善化寺主要建築沿中軸線坐北朝南，漸次展開，層層迭高。前為山門，中為三聖殿，均為金時所建。遼代遺構大雄寶殿坐落在後部高臺之上，其左右為東西朵殿。東側為殊閣遺址，西側為金貞元二年（1154年）所建普賢閣。善化寺建築高低錯落，主次分明，左右對稱，是中國現存規模最大、最為完整的遼金時期建築。
最後遊覽九龍壁，九龍壁原是明初代王朱桂府前的照壁，在現存的三座九龍壁中，是建築年代比較早、尺度比較大、而又富藝術魅力的一座。此壁的建築結構全部使用黃、綠、藍、紫、黑、白等色琉璃構件拼砌而成。壁體由三部分組成：底部為須彌座，中部為壁身，上部為壁頂。東西兩端分別是旭日東升和明月當空的圖案，並襯有江崖海水，流雲紋飾，行程結束後去酒店辦理入住。
第二天：返程
早餐後遊覽懸空寺。懸空寺位於恆山金龍峽翠屏峰的懸崖峭壁間，始建於北魏，距今已有1500多年歷史，是國內現存保存較好的高空木構摩崖建築。來到恆山腳下，遠遠地就可以看到懸在半山腰的懸空寺，它利用峭壁的凹凸部分巧妙地依勢而建，顯得格外錯落有致,之後開車約1小時前往應縣木塔。
應縣木塔一般指釋迦塔，是中國現存最高最古的且唯一一座木構塔式建築，塔高67.31米，底層直徑30.27米，呈平面八角形。全塔耗材紅松木料3000立方米，2600多噸，純木結構、無釘無鉚。塔內供奉著兩顆釋迦牟尼佛牙舍利。與義大利比薩斜塔、巴黎艾菲爾鐵塔並稱「世界三大奇塔」。
