😃Stroll around Guangzhou "Little Qinhuai".
I believe everyone knows the fruit of litchi, but do you know that there is a place in Guangzhou called "Litchi Bay"? Why is it so named?
[Litchi Bay] has a history of more than two thousand years. It is connected to the Pearl River. The brooks crisscross the bay. The banks of the main streams are planted with litchi trees, hence gets the name. It is also a famous summer amusement place, known as "Little Qinhuai". The Liwan District of Guangzhou is named after Litchi Bay.
Walk from the meeting point to Litchi Bay, passing through the old town area of [Xiguan]. From the area outside the west gate of Guangzhou city at the end of Ming Dynasty, there were eighteen fu and thirteen Hongs. In the Qing Dynasty, it became the only place for foreign trade and trade under the closed-door environment in the Qing Dynasty. It was the commercial center of the year and the place where wealthy businessmen lived. In Xiguan, you can see the "the Grand Massion Gate" everywhere, blue bricks, sliding doors...
[Civilian Pagoda] is built to enshrine the God of Kuixing (also known as Wenquxing), who masters the fate of literati and poet. Occasionally some students come to pray for success in their studies.
In Litchi Bay, you can taste [Xiguan Delicacy]- various foods made of water chestnut, such as water chestnut cake and water chestnut drink. In ancient times, the ponds of Litchi Bay were full of water plants such as water chestnuts, so local residents knew how to use the water chestnuts to cook the food according to local conditions.
Xiguan is also the birthplace of the [Bamboo Noodles]. The Xiguan Bamboo Garden Restaurant, awarded Michelin Bibi Gourmand 2018, is hidden in Litchi Bay. The store still uses traditional noodle making methods and natural dried noodles.
The thin willows on the banks of Litchi Bay are flicking, and the banyan trees are intertwined. As we walked along the stone road, a lingering and clear [Cantonese opera] came from the distance, passing the sparkling blue waves of Litchi Bay. Listening to singing under the banyan tree is still the favorite of Xiguan people in their leisure time.
[Panxi Restaurant], which is connected to Liwan Lake Park, is the original site of "Changhua Garden", the imperial garden of the emperor of the Souther Han in the Five Dynasties built more than 1,000 years ago. It is also one of the three major garden restaurants in Guangzhou (the other two are North Garden and South Garden).
Next to Litchi Bay, there is a temple dedicated to enshrine Taoism God Zhenwu - [Renwei Temple]. It is the oldest and largest temple in the Litchi Bay area and was built in the Song Dynasty. Renwei Temple was called North God Temple when it was first built. It is said that the God Zhenwu was called the North Gid or the God of Water because he was the master of water. And because the northern God of Zhenwu Xuantian is known as "divine power". So it was later renamed Renwei Temple.
Xiguan is the place that best reflects the customs of old Guangzhou, and is the epitome of the compatible and open Cantonese culture. The brick walls have ancient charm and the narrow lanes are deep. A stone road, a sliding door, a bay of spring water in Lisa’s Lake, a Cantonese Opera of southern red beans. You can try to find the poetry of life here, or simply forget yourself in the old time when you are busy.

😃賞羊城古韻，感受昔日西關生活。相信大家都知道荔枝這種水果，但是否知道廣州有個地方叫「荔枝灣」呢？它又為何得名呢？
【荔枝灣】已有二千多年的歷史，它與珠江相連，灣內河湧縱橫，主要溪流兩岸種滿荔枝樹，因此而得名。它也是有名的消夏遊樂地，素有「小秦淮」之稱，廣州市的荔灣區就是以荔枝灣而得名。
從集合地步行前往荔枝灣，途經【西關】老城區，自明末廣州城西門外一帶地方興建起十八甫，開設有十三行。並在清代閉關鎖國環境下而成唯一對外商貿之地而旺起，是當年的商貿中心，是富商巨賈聚居之地。在西關可以隨處見到「大宅門」，青磚、趟櫳門……
【文塔】是供奉魁星（亦稱文曲星），掌握文人騷客功名命運的神塔。偶爾可見一些學生過來祈願，希望學業順利。
在荔枝灣，可以品嘗到【西關美食】——用馬蹄為原料製作出的各種食物，如馬蹄糕馬蹄爽等。古時荔枝灣的池塘裡種滿馬蹄等水生植物，所以當地的居民因地制宜懂得使用馬蹄作為食物。
西關也是【竹升面】的發源地，米其林必比登 榜單上的西關竹園就藏在荔枝灣，店家至今沿用傳統制面做法、天然晾曬麵餅。
荔枝灣畔細柳輕拂，榕樹盤根錯節。沿著石板路前行時，遠處傳來纏綿清越的【粵曲】，掠過荔枝灣的粼粼碧波。榕樹頭下聽唱曲，依舊是西關人休閒時所愛。
與荔灣湖公園相連的【泮溪酒家】，是建於1000多年前五代南漢國皇帝的御花園「昌華苑」的故地，也是廣州三大園林酒家之一（其餘兩家是北園和南園）。
在荔枝灣旁邊有一座專門供奉道教真武帝的神廟——【仁威廟】。它是荔枝灣地區最古老、最大的廟宇，始建於宋代。仁威廟初建時稱北帝廟。據說，因真武帝司水，故人們稱他為北帝或水神。又因北方真武玄天上帝素有「神威」。所以後來改稱仁威廟了。
西關是最能體現老廣州風情的地方，是兼容開放的廣府文化的縮影。磚牆古韻，窄巷幽深。一條石板路，一道趟櫳門，一灣荔湖春水，一曲南國紅豆。你可以試著在這裡找回生活的詩意，或者就只是在忙碌的間隙，簡單地將自己遺忘在繾綣的舊時光裡。
