Tea is one of the most popular drinks in Korea. Tea ceremonies were first held in Korea more than a thousand years ago. They are still recognised today as special occasions by Buddhist monks and ordinary people.
在韓國，茶是一款最受歡迎的飲品。1000多年前韓國就有了茶藝。時至今日，韓國大眾和佛教徒仍視茶禮為特別活動。
The ceremonies in Korea are similar to those heldin Japan and China but they are not as formal as the ceremonies in Japan.
韓國茶藝和日本、中國茶藝類似，但沒有日本茶道那么正式。
Many Koreans today still have tea ceremonies for important occasions including special birthdays and anniversaries.
當今，很多韓國人依然會在生日、周年等特殊日子舉辦茶禮。

Korean Buddhists monks spend many hours meditating- thinking about their religion and their life. They use the tea ceremony to help them meditate.

Ordinary people also feel that tea ceremonies are spiritual occasions that are closely associated with their religion. 'Tea,' they say, 'is a healthy, enjoyable and stimulating drink, full of good qualities. It reduces loneliness and calms your heart; it is a comfort in everyday life'.
韓國民眾認為茶藝也是一種關乎信仰的精神活動，表示，"茶是一種能令人健康、愉快、振奮的優質飲品。日常飲茶是種享受，能夠舒心靜神。"
There are tea rooms in most cities and even small towns in Korea where friends can gather and drink tea together.
韓國很多城市都有茶室，有些小鎮也有。朋友們可以在那裡結伴飲茶。
韓國茶文化強調簡單自然，因而少一些既定的儀式，相對更注重自由、創造、享受和對話。在wikipedia裡這樣描述到：This leads to a wider variance of teahouse design, tea garden entries and gardens, different use and styles of teawares, and regional variations in choice of tea, choice of cakes and biscuits and snacks, seasonal and temporal variations, and the acoustic and visual ambiance of Korean teahouses. （韓國茶文化的理念使之在茶室設計、茶園的小道和庭院、茶具的類型和用途、茶葉的地域區分、茶點（糕點/餅乾/零食）的準備、季節和時令的呼應、甚至視聽氛圍的布置上都不盡相同。）
