The Zero Waste Concept Day will take place on Sunday 19th November U Coffee on Xindonglu
THE BULK HOUSE is a social enterprise dedicated to zero waste and minimalism. We are building a platform that integrates both zero waste and minimalism.
The Zero Waste Concept Day is about demonstrating a taster of a zero waste shopping experience with the future aim of achieving a one-stop zero waste shopping experience within Beijing and beyond.
Everything can be sold in a zero waste way, including wine, beer, chocolate, olive oil, fruit, vegetables, sauces, pasta, meat, fish, cake, you name it! Of course, no one wants to create any waste, but right now it is just way more convenient to do so.
THE BULK HOUSE is dedicated to making zero waste convenient for everyone!

怎麼做 The HOW
We want to work with more domestic and international brands with a sense of social responsibility to promote a greener sustainable lifestyle. At the same time, we will regularly organize and share zero waste and minimalism events and activities. With a mix of online and offline events we can meet each other and learn from each other.
We hope that through these activities will help more and more people discover that zero waste + minimailsim = greater happiness.
We hope we can introduce the idea to people and let them try it our for themselves. The more of us that try out the zero waste lifestyle the easier it will become for us all.
Zero Waste Market 零浪費市集 (12:00 - 18:00）
We want to create a zero waste market platform to make the one-stop zero waste shopping experience more convenient. There will be a number of really great, high quality brands at the market. Check out the vendors logos further down.
The brands participating in this market are adopting and developing the zero waste concept into their brand, providing reusable packaging or biodegradable packaging. This means that very little or no waste ends up in landfills, incinerators or oceans. We hope that more and more people can support these brands and by doing so, you are voting as you shop.

Reduce to Relive · 精簡生活 | FREE! (12:00 - 18:00)
Reduce to Relive is a community event from THE BULK HOUSE. The event is based around zero waste and promotes a sharing economy where we work together to ensure items that are not used in our homes or office are Reduced and get to Relive again somewhere else. It works like this: bring things along you no longer need, take things that you do need and will use. EVERYTHING IS FREE AT THE REDUCE TO RELIVE EVENT!

Sewing Workshop 縫補工作坊 (14:00 - 15:00)
Our friend Emily from England has a pair of very clever hands.
This Sunday, Emily will host a sewing workshop where she will teach some general sewing skills and also teach everyone how to make 2 small items within the hour-long workshop.
Each participant will get to take home 2 items that they have made themselves during the workshop.
The 2 items: a coffee coaster and a small bag
Here is an example of one of Emily's coffee coasters
The workshop includes all fabric, materials, tools and costs just 88 RMB
To join, simply scan the QR code above and please write in the "Add Remarks" section the word "Sewing"
This is because we have 2 workshops on Sunday.
Each workshop only has space for a maximum of 10 people
You are welcome to join both workshops.

DIY Skincare workshop 護膚品工作坊 (16:00 - 17:00)
The DIY Skincare Workshop will be taught by our French friend, Swannie.
You will get an insight into which ingredients go into our skincare products, the advantages of DIYing your own products and also make make 2 products within the hour-long workshop.
Each participant will get to take home 2 products that they have made themselves during the workshop.
The 2 items: a coffee scrub and a face wash
The workshop includes all ingredients and containers and costs just 88 RMB
To join, simply scan the QR code above and please write in the "Add Remarks" section the word "Skincare"
This is because we have 2 workshops on Sunday.
Each workshop only has space for a maximum of 10 people

Kitten adoption 貓咪領養站 (12:00- 18:00)
Our friend Elsie has a very kind heart, she spontaneously rescued 15 stray cats, gave them food, water and a comfortable living space.
Her good deeds deeply affected me, so THE BULK HOUSE wants to help Elsie with her good deed by helping her to find people who would like to adopt a kitten. There are 6 kittens in total.
If you would love to adopt a kitten, please come along to see, cuddle and play with the kittens at U Coffee.
If you would like to adopt one we can put you in touch with Elsie.

U Coffee is just a stone's throw from Paddy O'Sheas, The Australian Embassy, The Canadian Embassy, The German Embassy and Heaven Supermarket.

There are 4 subway stations all within less than a 10-minute bike ride from U Coffee

THE BULK HOUSE recently joined 1% For The Planet. This means that we donate at 1% of our revenue to international environmental protection organizations dedicated to the helping and protecting the environment.
Whatever remains at the end of the event will be donated to the Roundabout，and will be distributed to people in need.
Roundabout is a social enterprise headed by volunteers. They provide a free service connecting those who wish to give, be that monetary or otherwise, to those in need. Started in 2008, they were the first charity store in mainland China. They now give support to 48 charitable organizations in the Beijing area and many more throughout China, Inner Mongolia and Mongolia.
