Deere and Deutz Team Up on Lower Power Engine Range
John Deere Power Systems and Deutz plan to jointly develop and source components for a low horsepower range engine up to 130kW (174 hp).
Working together, the two companies look to close a gap in the market by developing an engine that provides exceptional value on initial purchase while also retaining the reliability, versatility, and performance customers expect from John Deere and Deutz engines.
Deere and Deutz bring different perspectives and capabilities to the table, so the collaboration lets the two companies broaden their supply base and benefit from global scale. They believe that the collaboration will ultimately translate to increased market and customer value.
The co-development and co-sourcing scope includes engine hardware and design, from which each company will customize its product to meet customers』 specific needs through engine software and controls.
Each of the two companies will manufacture and distribute its engines independently.
