一場由黑人弗洛伊德之死而引發的全美抗議種族不平等和警察暴行的活動，不斷發酵，進入到了白熱化。
「Black Lives Matter」（黑人的命也是命）活動轟轟烈烈的情態下，影視行業也不幸被波及。
一些人提出：社會應該對那些包含了過時的種族偏見與隱性歧視的文藝作品，進行重新審視，做出合理的揚棄。
就在幾天前，美國華納傳媒旗下流媒體平臺HBO Max下架了經典電影《亂世佳人》，理由是有人認為該電影「宣揚了種族主義」「涉嫌種族歧視」「美化奴隸制」。這一消息立刻引爆輿論場。
電影《亂世佳人》改編自世界名著《飄》，其成書於1936年，講述了19世紀80年代美國南北戰爭時期南方種植園背景下的愛情故事。有人說，這部書相當於是「美國的四大名著」。
The 1939 film, which tells the love story of Scarlett O'Hara and Rhett Butler during the American Civil War, is considered by many to be a cinematic classic and is one of the most popular films ever made.
這部1939年的電影講述了美國內戰期間斯嘉麗·奧哈拉和瑞德·巴特勒的愛情故事，被許多人認為是電影中的經典，也是有史以來最受歡迎的電影之一。
該片獲得了包括最佳影片（best picture）在內的10項奧斯卡獎，其中，飾演女主奶媽的哈蒂·麥克丹尼爾（Hattie McDaniel）成為首位獲得奧斯卡獎的黑人。
儘管是一部80多年前的老電影，但豆瓣評分竟高達9.3分。對於中國的英語愛好者來說，也是必看的經典之一。

HBO MAX發布聲明，「《亂世佳人》是時代的產物，但不幸的是它描繪了部分美國社會存在的種族偏見」。《亂世佳人》下架只是暫時的，未來會重新上架，不會進行刪改，只會添加對該片歷史背景的提示，以及對片中種族偏見內容的譴責。
因為如果不這樣做，就等於宣稱這些偏見從未存在過。如果我們要創造一個更加公正、公平和包容的未來，我們必須首先承認和理解我們的歷史。
If we are to create a more just, equitable and inclusive future, we must first acknowledge and understand our history," the spokesperson said.
最先呼籲外界關注這部影片的是另一部美國黑人題材電影《為奴十二載》的編劇約翰·萊德利(John Ridley)，他在《洛杉磯時報》發文稱，
「《亂世佳人》美化了南北戰爭前的南方地區，忽視了奴隸制的的殘酷。」
其實最近被下架的不止《亂世佳人》這一部，至今已播出超過1000集的真人秀節目《警察》也停播了，還有展現美國警察探案的《直擊追捕現場：LIVE PD》暫停播出。連英劇《小不列顛》都下架了。
然而最令我國網友震驚的，還是《老友記》這部風靡全球的經典美劇遭到炮轟。要知道，這部劇是當年很多人學習英語和了解美國文化的重要窗口，但它因為全白人的主演陣容，也一直飽受反種族主義者的抨擊。
近日，《老友記》製片人瑪爾塔·考夫曼也突然落淚，在參加活動時承認，她在促進電視劇種族多樣性方面做得「還不夠」。
The co-creator of the hit sitcom 「Friends」 has expressed regret for the lack of racial diversity in the TV show.
「對不起，我真心希望我當時能知道我現在知道的事情，這樣我肯定會做出非常不同的決定」。
她表示：「我們一直都鼓勵我們公司的人員構成多元化，但我之前做得不夠，所以現在我想的是我能夠去做什麼，該如何做得不同，如何用一個新的方式去製作劇集。」
飾演菲比的莉莎·庫卓近日也說，如果《老友記》是2020年拍的，這個劇就會完全不一樣了。
"Well, it would not be an all-white cast, for sure," she told British newspaper The Times in an article published Saturday. "I'm not sure what else, but, to me,it should be looked at as a time capsule, not for what they did wrong."
「肯定不會是全白人卡司，我不知道別的，但是對於我來說，我們應該用看待當年事物的眼光去看待它，而不是光看到它做錯的地方。」
