不及物動詞：
結婚
She married in her late twenties.
她快三十歲結婚的。
Mrs. Brown was anxious to marry off her five daughters.

In economically advanced countries, women marry later.
在經濟發達的國家，婦女結婚較晚。
及物動詞：
和......結婚；嫁；娶
為…主持婚禮；把…嫁給；為…娶親
'I asked her to marry me.' 'You what?'
「我向她求婚了。」「你說什麼？」
I don't want to get married yet.
我還不想結婚。
My mother was only 21 when she got married.
我母親結婚時才21歲。
I wouldn't marry you if you were the last person on earth!
就算世上只剩你一個，我也不會嫁給你！
注意：
她結婚了。
不是：
She has married.
要說：
She is rumoured tohave been married in England.
據說她在英國結婚了。
我和妻子結婚14年了。
不是：
My wife and Ihave married for 14 years.
要說：
My wife and Ihave been married for 14 years.
marry是短暫性動詞，短暫性動詞不能表達延續一段時間。
be married表示結婚這種狀態。
