The formal establishment of diplomatic relations between the People's Republic of China and the European Economic Community (EU) in 1975 was an important milestone in the increasingly important relations between the 27 European countries and China, opening a new chapter in China-EU relations. China-Europe relations are one of the most important international relations in the world today and have a positive impact both bilaterally and on the world. After 45 years of development, the cooperation between the two sides has expanded to many fields such as peace and security, environment, science and technology, culture, education and health, etc. The two sides have established a comprehensive strategic partnership and are actively building four partnerships: peace, growth, reform and civilization.
In order to celebrate the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomaticrelations between China and Europe and to help the excellent Chinese traditional culture go out, CEAC and the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of Belgium coordinate and host the "China-Europe National Art Exhibition" and the "China-Europe Cultural Ambassador" cultural activities, which will provide an opportunity to promote this event, provide a platform to promote mutual understanding between Chinese and European people, make the Sino-European relations to a higher level, and promote the cultural exchange and integration between China and the EU.
1975年，中華人民共和國與歐洲經濟共同體(歐盟)正式建立外交關係,這是27個歐洲國家聯盟與中國之間日趨重要關係中的一個重要裡程碑,開啟了中歐關係的嶄新篇章。中歐關係是當今世界最重要的國際關係之一，無論對雙邊還是對世界而言都起著積極影響。歷經45年發展,雙方合作擴展至和平與安全、環境、科技、文化、教育、衛生等諸多領域,雙方已建立全面戰略夥伴關係,積極建設和平、增長、改革、文明四大夥伴關係。
為慶祝中歐建交45周年，為助力優秀的中國傳統文化走出去，中歐文化交流中心、比利時皇家藝術院協調承辦「中歐國際藝術展」和「中歐文化形象大使」文化活動,此次活動將為促進中歐人民的相互了解提供了平臺，使中歐關係向更高層邁進,同時也促進中國與歐盟的文化交流與融合。
