小夥伴們都知道交朋友是make friends with sb，但是交男朋友可不是make a boyfriend，快來聽聽吉米老師怎麼說。"交男朋友"不能說make a boyfriend!
如果我們對外國人說，I want to make a boyfriend。他們一定是一頭霧水，因為在外國人聽來，make a friend的意思是你要製造出一個男朋友。這話也太令人震驚了。
She got a boyfriend after work.
工作之後她交了一個男朋友
Her mother doesn t think it s hard to find a boyfriend.
她的媽媽認為找一個男朋友並不難。
When she was in college, she wanted to look for a boyfriend.
她在大學的時候很希望找一個男朋友。
He asked me politely:"Do you have a boyfriend?"
他很禮貌地詢問，你有男朋友嗎?
PS: "交女朋友"也是一個道理啦, 把boyfriend換成girlfriend就好~
例：He found it difficult to find a partner.
他覺得找對象不是一件容易的事。
例：Why do you have to look for a mate? Is it bad to be single？
為什麼一定要找對象？單身不好嗎？
例：She wants to find a mate before she is 30.
她想在30歲之前找到配偶。
Don t worry, it s only puppy love. hit it off 表示喜歡某人並立刻變得友善，與某人迅速建立積極友好的關係。在美國俚語中還有「深受歡迎」的含義。We hit it off with each other as soon as we met.on the rocks表示遭遇危機，瀕臨破裂，面臨破產。這一層含義來自航海中觸礁的船隻擱淺在海中的巖石之上，僅剩殘骸這一情形。
ps: on the rocks 還有點酒的時候「加冰塊」的意思。

注意區分，在表示「對某事欺騙」時，可用cheat in/on；在表示「對某人欺騙」時，只可以用cheat on。I d found he was cheating on me and I was angry.
