The Canary And The Bat
蝙蝠和金絲雀
A canary which was confined in a cage outside a window often sang at night when all other birds were asleep.
掛在窗口籠裡的金絲雀，經常在鳥兒睡著的夜裡歌唱。
One night a bat flew to her and asked why she was silent by day and sang only at night.
一天晚上，蝙蝠飛過來問她為什麼白天安靜無聲，夜裡卻要歌唱。
The canary answered, "Last year when I was singing in the daytime, a bird catcher heard my voice and caught me in his net. Since then I have never sung by day."
金絲雀回答說：「去年我在白天唱歌時，捕鳥人聽到我的歌聲抓住了我。從此，我再也不在白天唱歌了。」
The bat replied, "It's no use knowing that you're cautious now. It would be great if you knew it before you became a prisoner!" Then he flew away.
蝙蝠說：「你現在懂得謹慎已經沒有用了，你若在變為囚徒之前就懂得，那該多好呀！」說完就飛走了。
