1. Born optimist-天生樂觀主義者
指那些碰到任何事都會往積極的方面想的人
Ex: I admire Jamal because he always sees the sunny side of life. He’s a born optimist.

2. Culture vulture－文化熱衷者、文化狂熱分子
指那些藝術，戲劇，文學，音樂等特別感興趣的人。

Example: John spends most of his weekends reading books or attending art exhibitions. He’s a real culture vulture.

4. Early bird－早起的人
尤指那些在早上起得特別早的人。早起的人會有很多優勢，正如諺語所說「早起的鳥兒蟲吃」。
Example: In her senior years, when she finally had the luxurious freedom to sleep in, Delores became an early bird and got up every morning at 5:00 am.

5. Earth mother－天生的母親；充滿母性的女人
指那些非常有愛心及母性的女人，天生有為人母的基因。

6. Family man－有妻室兒女的人；戀家的男人

Example: Since the birth of his twins, Harvey has become a family man. He spends all of his spare time with his children.

8. Good egg－大好人
指那些值得信賴並且很慷慨大方的人
Example: It was good of William to buy all that food and drink – he's a good egg!

9. Jack-of-all-trades - 萬事通，多面手
Example: From auto repair to hairdressing, Frank can do it all. He is a jack-of-all-trades.

10. Man of his word / woman of her word －信守諾言的人
Example: You can trust Samuel. He is a man of his word.

Example: He was a mover and shaker in the world of politics. He accomplished a lot in his 30-year career.

12. Smart cookie －聰明的人
Example: Why don’t we ask Miss Chips to help us solve our problem? I』ve been told that she’s a smart cookie.
13. Teacher’s pet － 教師的寵兒，老師面前的紅人
老師最喜歡的學生即為老師的寵兒。這個習語可是褒義也可以是貶義，所以要特別留意。
