倍數表達法

1. 倍數+as+形容詞或副詞的原級+as+其它。

這種結構又常演變成下列兩類：

①倍數+as+many+可數名詞複數+as;

②倍數+as+much+不可數名詞+as。如：

There are seven times as many people as I expected.

是我預料的人數的七倍。

There is five times as much coffee in this glass as in that one.

這個杯子裡的咖啡是那個杯子裡的五倍。

2. 倍數+形容詞（或副詞）的比較級+ than+其它。如：

The hall is five times bigger than our classroom.

這個大廳的面積比我們教師大五倍。

3. 計量名詞+of+名詞+be+倍數+that+of+其它。如：

The size of the newly broadened square is four times that of the previous one.

新擴建的廣場為以前的四倍大。

4. 倍數+what從句。如：

The production is now three times what it was ten years ago.

現在的產量是十年前的三倍。

5. 倍數+more+名詞+than+其它。如：

There are nine times more books in his bag than in yours.

他書包裡的書比你書包裡的書多九倍。

6. 其它表達。如：

She&34;比較級+and+比較級&34;越來越…&34;the+比較級…，the+比較級…"表示「越…，就越…」。如：

The more you have, the more you want.

The more a man knows, the less he knows he knows.

【知識擴展】

在形容詞比較級前可以加a little, a bit, a lot, no, any, much, far, even,still等副詞組表示程度的加深。如：

The result is much better than we expected.

Actually, health is far more important than wealth.
