寒暄時候為啥要用 what's the topic? 或者 what shall we talk about? 很不科學……

很多英語愛好者學習者覺得用英語寒暄閒聊總會突然間尬住，不知道說什麼好。即便是腦子裡閃過無數的短語詞彙句型感覺都排不上用場。其實，英語的閒聊寒暄和漢語一樣，都是些家長裡短，娛樂八卦的事情。我們可以自己回想一下，我們自己用中文閒聊八卦的時候都聊寫啥？衣食住行，柴米油鹽，新聞娛樂，明星八卦，健康養生，打折促銷……其實英語也是一樣，無非就是多個異國風情，留學旅遊罷了！

場景1

Hi, Ricky! What are coincidence！

Yes, Kiki!  

What happened, poor boy? Don’t tell me you did not go to the blind dating yesterday!

Yes, I went there. It could be better. But, I screwed up.

熟人之間寒暄時候的禁忌相對於陌生人之間會更少，可選擇的餘地更多。

Not exactly……

對於經常見面的人，打招呼大可不必用 how are you、good morning、 good afternoon……這類客套話，這些較為正式的打招呼方法一般用在辦公室，學校等較為正式的場合，再有就是酒店餐廳這類場所或者關係不是很近，又或者相互之間僅僅是剛剛斷生。

Ashley: Hi, Boris! Bourbon, as usual!

Boris:  All right! Here it is!

Ashley: Hey, Boris! 

Boris:  What?

Ashley: Who is that guy in short-coat over there beside window?

Boris: Uh! He is Jiao something…… I don’t know. The Chinese language always makes my tongue frozen.

Ashley: He is from China, isn’t he?

Boris: Yes, he is. And…

Ashley: What?

Boris: I just know his home town is……how to say the name of that city used be the epicenter….

Ashley: OMG……

Boris: Yes , it’s.

Ashley: Get it! Hey, Boris! Give him a Bourbon,  on me!

Zhou kai: Excuseme, Sir! I did not……

Boris: It’s offer from that lady!

Ashley: May I? Anyway, my name’s Ashley!

Zhou kai: I’m Zhou kai.

Ashley: Sounds like Chinese name.

Zhou kai: Yes, Wuhan.

Ashley: I can tell you are just worrying about your families.

Zhou kai: Not  worrying. Just missing them.

Ashley: Homesick. Seems like you』ve being stuck here very long time.

 在社交場合或者休閒場合與人寒暄閒聊，不管是濃烈的威士忌還是香濃的奶茶，都是話題的潤滑劑，能有效的避免尷尬。建議我們的愛好者和學習者在參加英語角或者英語沙龍這類活動時儘量避免說：what shall we talk about? 或者 what’s the topic today?  因為這樣的句子會使氣氛更加尷尬。
