小八覺得，誠實的說出I don’t know或I have no idea是一個好習慣。
亞里斯多德（Aristotle）曾說：The more you know, the more you know you don’t know. 當你知道的越多時，你就明白自己知道的遠遠不夠。
在生活中，我們最常說，也最常聽到："I don’t know" or "I have no idea".
但僅僅會這兩句可不行！因為在英語中，用這兩句回答professor或者boss，會顯得你的態度非常「不客氣」，難免會給對方留下不好的印象。
即使說「不知道」，也要說的有禮貌，說的地道！！！畢竟"I don’t know" or "I have no idea".是初初初學者的水平。
那如何表達「我不知道」，讓對方聽了覺得你很重視他的問題，也顯得你英語口語不是那麼生硬呢？
Firstly，學會在任何表述「你不知道或者不確定」的句子後跟以下五句話，會顯得你非常care對方的問題。
...But I'll try to find out.
...But I'll double-check.
...But I'll look into that.
...And I'll get back to you.
...And I'll let you know.
Eg.
I don’t know, but I'll try to find out.
I am not sure, but I'll double-check.

這樣對方一般會自己去問John了。
還有一些更casual（隨意）的說法，畢竟對朋友說這麼長的句子多累得慌！
faint adj.微弱的。用這個詞就能看出「你腦海中一絲絲的想法都木有」，really don’t care.foggy adj. 朦朧的。這句中idea可有可無，用來回答朋友自帶嘲點的問題。Beats me!

這幾句等同於I have no idea. 乾脆利落，用在家人朋友的日常對話，在家庭喜劇類型的美劇中經常出現。意思是我不知道他去幹什麼啦，我不知道他什麼時候來，我不知道…等等。
