Online libraries are becoming increasingly popular. The Internet has developed into a liberating tool, with a limitless source of information brought to your fingertips. Here come e-books, electronic journals and diverse software, which have become the universal appeals in this digital age.
Compared with the traditional one, there are several advantages of online libraries. Firstly, they provide a more efficient information transmission. Readers used to spend quite a long time on the way. Now nothing is entailed but a smartphone or tablet, in any place at any time, and we users can easily query or obtain information concerned. Just a click, within a few seconds, makes our access to what we look up possible. Secondly, conventional libraries differ from digital one in terms of mediums, and we have various representations to choose from. Take children as an example. Things won’t be the same because we introduce a variety of audios, animations and videos. Pupils become well informed in both Biology and English after watching the BBC Alien Empire. Thirdly, e-reading is also a useful means to reduce the consumption of paper so that we can protect our environment better.
All in all, today’s mobile devices and the Internet keep you lighter on your feet, cramming them all in one. Out of question, online libraries are one of the greatest inventions, both convenient and rich in resources, and thus they do bring us a lot of benefits.
