Directions: For this part, you are allowed 30 minutes to write an essay on online libraries. You can start your essay with the sentence 「online libraries are becoming increasingly popular」. You should write at least 120 words but no more than 180 words.
【寫作評述】
本次寫作題目online libraries依舊沿襲了四級考試的慣例，體裁是最常考察的議論文，考生按照平時常見的三段式展開論述即可。從命題方式來看，和2020年7月的四級考試的the use of translation apps大同小異，都是信息情景類文章，題目要求當中給出簡短的提示信息，考生發揮空間大，角度相對比較開放，不容易跑題。從話題類別來看，此次文章和2011年6月考過的online shopping相似度極高，online …都是當代社會科技進步的產物，因此可以按照科技類話題的寫作方式展開論述，分析利弊。此外，圖書館是校園生活話題裡經常出現的場所，跟學生的學習生活息息相關，寫起來比較有代入感。

Modern society has witnessed a wide range of changes in technology, which undoubtedly brings about fundamental change in various fields. Online library is one of its products that is widely used by an increasing number of people. Pros and cons coexist. Just as the saying goes, 「every coin has two sides.」
For one thing, under the circumstance of big data, online libraries, which rely on the large amount of information provided on the internet, is accessible for anyone who owns a cellphone or a computer. It is so convenient that will make work or study more efficient than before. Users won’t confront a situation of book deficiency as traditional libraries have when they want to obtain information or refer to necessary materials. For another, offline libraries create a quiet atmosphere of reading as well as edify one’s sentiment. Furthermore, libraries in campus are perfect places to carry out academic exchange and give lectures.
Taking into account of all these factors, it is wise to conclude that technological advancement is an irreversible trend. There is no denying that we should use online libraries reasonably to get information and feast the convenience of our time.
