Hello, it's Mr. Wong here. I hope you're doing well. Before we talk about today's topic, I just wanna say we have at least one thing in common. Hmm... What do we have in common you ask?
Well, most of us should have a smartphone, PC or maybe a Mac by now, and we browse the Internet almost everyday, but we hate pop-up ads. When we're trying to read an article or click and tap on something, somehow we manage to tap on the pop-up ads and they take us to this website where we don't want to go.
Pop-up ads have been described as the scourge of the Internet, but as more and more companies go online these days, they need more and more ways to advertise their products and services. The most popular method, unfortunately, is the use of "pop-up" advertising.
A pop-up ad is an advertisement that appears on the computer screen out of nowhere, mostly when the pop-up victim is surfing the Internet. But sometimes they will appear when the victim is not surfing the Internet at all.
Ahem... I've heard from a friend of mine - if you browse adult content online,
you're more likely to become a victim of the pop-up ads or maybe a computer virus. Anyways, today's word of the day is "scourge," check it out!
