1. Opinion essay
此類作文主要考查考生陳述個人觀點的能力。
想要獲得高分，考生需清晰地闡明理由，使用相關例子去論證其觀點。
2. Opinion essay常見的提問方式：
1） What is your opinion?
2） Do you agree or disagree?
3） To what extent do you agree or disagree?
4） Do the advantages outweigh the disadvantages?
5） To what extent do the advantages outweigh the disadvantages?
例題：
Some people believe that the fast pace and stress of modern life is having a negative effect on families.
To what extent do you agree or disagree?
3. 題目分析：
每個雅思作文題目都包含一個主題（topic）和一個問題（question）。
寫作時務必要著重圍繞該主題和問題去寫，才能在task response（任務完成度）一項獲得6分或更高的分數。
如上面的例題裡，第一句為主題，第二句是問題。
主題：Some people believe that the fast pace and stress of modern life is having a negative effect on families.
主題句裡有並列連詞and，那麼記得and連接的兩個方面都要寫到，即fast pace 和stress of modern life都要寫。
問題：To what extent do you agree or disagree?
回答這個問題有2個要求：
1）必須表明你是否同意（agree or disagree）；
2）在多大程度上同意或不同意（the extent／how much you agree or disagree）。
為突出你的觀點立場，建議在開頭段和結尾段都提及自己的立場。
如果是100%同意或不同意的話，可以用totally 或completely agree／disagree；如果是部分同意或不同意，可以用somewhat或partly表明自己的立場。
儘量避免50%同意或不同意，否則會導致你的立場不夠說服力或不夠明確。
4. 作文布局
1）用下劃線畫出主題句裡的重點詞彙，並用相關近義詞作替換。
如上面例題中，重點詞彙及其替換詞：fast pace (high-speed), stress (pressure), modern life (contemporary lifestyles), negative (harmful), effect (influence), families (family life)。
2）判斷是哪種提問類型。
To what extent do you agree or disagree? ＝ say how much you agree or disagree
3）快速頭腦風暴，簡要列出同意或不同意的關鍵論點：
Agree with negative effect on families：a) less time for families to be together；b) arguments among family members
Disagree with negative effect on families：a) be forced to cooperate more, which brings them closer together
4）闡明個人觀點立場 (totally agree, somewhat agree, somewhat disagree, totally disagree)
闡明個人的立場，無須兩邊都論述，只需按自己覺得更好寫的一邊論述即可。當然，你也可以選擇部分同意或不同意，兩邊都論述，最後闡明更傾向於哪一邊觀點也可。
5）敲定作文結構
根據自己的立場，在作文主體部分（body of the essay）就應先論述你更支持那一邊的觀點論據，然後按論據由強到弱去布局主體部分。
5．作文寫作步驟
一旦有了結構布局，就可以動手寫了。
1）複述題目
根據上面的重點詞彙替換，把原題目重寫一次，但記得不要一字不漏抄寫！一定要替換複述！這樣才能在有限的作文字數裡體現你的vocabulary and grammar水平。
Many people feel that family life is being harmed by the high-speed and pressure of contemporary lifestyles.
2）闡明立場（totally／strongly／somewhat＋agree／disagree）
在開頭段闡明個人觀點立場以及簡明理由。
I somewhat agree with this opinion because the fast pace leads to less time for families to be together, stress leads to arguments among family members; however, due to the increased time pressure and stress families are forced to cooperate more, which brings them closer together.
3）主體部分
主體部分一般由2-3段組成，具體可按所列的論點分段論述。
每個主體段應以主題句開頭，後接支持該主題句相關的解釋說明（explanation）、例子（example）或細節（details）。
4）結尾部分
用概括性的詞語（In conclusion／To summarize等）引出結尾段，然後總結個人立場和所論述的觀點論據。
6．Opinion essay作文模版
P1. Introduction
I totally agree/disagree with this opinion because … (理由1+理由2).
P2. Body
The main reason why I believe/don’t believe XXX is because … (理由1).
P3. Body
Another reason why I support/don’t support the notion that XXX is due to the fact that… (理由2).
P4. Conclusion
In conclusion, I completely agree/disagree that XXX because (改述理由1) and (改述理由2).
