Believe you me,這是什麼鬼話?

我聽過不少美國人說believe you me，一開始以為是對方口誤，後來次數多了，才意識到口語裡就是有這種用法的。（點擊可放大↓）


看片的時候也經常得到印證。




前段時間偶然發現，原來英式英語裡也有這種用法！

真是永遠不能想當然啊！

Anyway，總覺得believe you me這樣的結構很滑稽，明明就是You, believe me!的效果，為什麼不直接說you believe me，而要說believe you me呢？

在網上搜了半天，發覺還真沒有定論。不少專家和學者都給出了自己的答案，但都只是猜測而已。我覺得最有意思的educated guess是：莎士比亞的作品經常用這種句式。由於他的影響力巨大，這種用法就進入了日常英語。

Romeo and Juliet, Act 3, Scene 4, Lord Capulet speaking:

And bid her, mark you me, on Wednesday next...

As you like it, Act 5, Scene 2, Phebe speaking:

If this be so, why blame you me to love you?

Hamlet, Act 4, Scene 2, Rosencrantz speaking:

Take you me for a sponge, my lord?
