9月29日，中國網際網路信息中心（CNNIC）發布第46次《中國網際網路發展狀況統計報告》。
The number of internet users in China had reached 940 million as of June, accounting for one-fifth of the world's total, according to the report. The internet penetration rate in China reached 67 percent, about 5 percentage points higher than the global average, the report said.
報告顯示，截至2020年6月，我國網民規模達9.4億，相當於全球網民的五分之一。網際網路普及率達67%，約高於全球平均水平5個百分點。
【單詞講解】
這裡的penetration rate多用於商業領域，指「滲透率」，常用的專業表達是market penetration rate（市場滲透率），指某個商品或品牌在整個市場中的普及程度以及銷售情況。
那麼internet penetration rate指的就是網際網路在全國的普及及使用程度。
類似的表達還有broadband/mobile-phone penetration（寬帶/手機普及程度）。
▌城鄉數字鴻溝顯著縮小
Residents in 98 percent of China's poor villages had access to the internet through fiber-optic cables, said the report, noting that the urban-rural digital gap had been significantly narrowed.
數據顯示，全國貧困村通光纖比例達到98%，城鄉數字鴻溝顯著縮小。

這裡的digital gap就是「數字鴻溝」，又稱為「信息鴻溝」，也可以用digital divide來表示，是指在全球數位化進程中，不同國家、地區、行業、企業、社區之間，由於對信息、網絡技術的擁有程度、應用程度以及創新能力的差別而造成的信息落差及貧富進一步兩極分化的趨勢。消除數字鴻溝有助於縮小rural-urban divide（城鄉差距）。
▌電商直播增長最快
The number of the country's livestreaming users reached 562 million by the end of June, 309 million of whom are engaged with e-commerce livestreaming, according to the report.
報告顯示，截至6月底，我國直播用戶達5.62億，其中3.09億為電商直播用戶。
▌在線教育用戶超3.8億
Internet services such as online education, medical consultation and remote-office facilities have great development potential due to the influence of the COVID-19 epidemic, said the report, adding that the number of online-education users now exceeds 380 million.
受新冠肺炎疫情影響，在線教育、在線醫療、遠程辦公等成為極具發展潛力的網際網路應用，其中在線教育用戶已超過3.8億。
