一、意思不同

compare with：表示把什麼與什麼相比，同類相比。

compare to：表示把什麼比做什麼，異類相比，比喻。

二、用法不同

不同事物用Compare to ，相同事物用Compare with。

with表示把什麼和什麼相比，比較，是指研究評判人與人之間，事物與事物之間相同或相異的程度。

例如：Compared with his past,he has changed a lot.

與過去相比，他變了很多。

to表示是指出兩者之間的關係或相似。

We often compare a teacher to a candle．

我們常把老師比喻成蠟燭。
