第一句Youth is not a time of life; it is a state of mind是一個完美的前後對仗，音節數量也差不多，英語中很難做到。it is not a matter of 它不是關乎...的問題。rosy 玫瑰色的，玫瑰大多是紅色的，這裡翻譯成桃面或粉面都沒問題。我們常說一張臉一張嘴，英語裡只要是對稱的，一般都用複數，可用a pair of修飾。為了中文的形式美，翻譯時意志前加了深沉的，沒有問題，但後面把a vigor of emotion譯成炙熱的戀情，是加了過多的猜想，不太合適；vigor是力量，emotion是感情，翻譯成澎湃的激情更忠實於原文。
